Life in Setia Alam

Location: Fried Chicken (KFC), TESCO Setia Alam
Status: Stomach filled up with chicken rice set
Mood: Seemingly indifferent towards the fact that first day of work is starting in a few hours

Have been in Setia Alam for a few days now. So far I think life has been quite okay. Nothing much going on as I haven't started work yet (fyi, i start tomorrow =D) but anyway I just went to church today for the first time here. It's a church in Klang called Glad Tidings Assembly, which is actually Pastor Gideon's church.

The church is fine I suppose, the worship team does a good job and the pastor preaches quite well. I kinda learned a little something new today during the sermon which really opened my eyes. He shared from the book of Deuteronomy chapter 30 I think, about the anointing oil of God. The formula was specifically designed by God and He instructed Moses that he is not to reproduce anything like it.

This brings me to the point that really spoke to me. The pastor said, we are to manifest God's anointing in our lives, and not to manufacture it. Which reminds me that sometimes we unknowingly have the impression that the worship team is to create the presence of God in the sanctuary; but then in fact what the worship team really is supposed to be doing is to let God just work THROUGH us as a manifestation of His work IN us.

Okay, I think that sounded a little complicated. I hope you get what I'm driving at. Heh.

All that aside, I think life is pretty routine here, but my job is not to make it routine. =D Might be making a little road trip down next weekend. Hope it works out. *fingers crossed*

p/s: This is the 1st time here that I'm paying for my own meal. lol

It's Been A While (Blessings)

Since UTP had their "non-existent" internet connection for quite a long while, could never login to Google and gmail, and Blogger. =( This meant that even if i comment on blogs I had to do so as anonymous.

Oh well, have been pretty much busy with many other things over the semester, notably with Euphonious 2009, and with the Engineering Team Project. These 2 events nearly took out a whole chunk of my semester. *wipes sweat*

Regarding Eupho '09, by God's grace we got into the finals after a great performance in the preliminary rounds. We (WE- Me, Jesse, Hann, Diane) gathered to pray and thank God for giving us an opportunity to play and glorify Him. When our band- Crash n Burn was announced, we were estatic.

In the final, we played 2 songs (for those who still don't know)- Over you by Daughtry, and Mamma Mia by ABBA, remixed style. Again we prayed, (WE- Me, Jesse, Hann, Diane +Rizki, who decided to join us in prayer!) before we got onstage and after we got offstage, and we pulled off an even more awesome performance than before!

The final performance- MIND-BLASTING!!

The result, you can read it here!!

Anyways, later the only thing to deal with was the ETP, which we have been painstakingly working on for ages and facing endless problems with. Our prototype was called "The Green Gambit", brainchild of Jared Ee. Even up to the very last moment, our prototype was still electronically unsound and problematic. But when the judges came, it worked perfectly and we qualified for EDX (Engineering Exhibition Design).

During the EDX God's favor was once again upon us as we managed to present well, even though I had 2 tests to deal with in those 2 days. Fortunately 1 was postponed, but we spent the second day studying at the exhibition. LOL.

All in all, we did well and we were rewarded with a silver medal, which I am going to hand to my supervisor later (I still feel like keeping it for myself though! =P) Special thanks to Jared for making that awesome logo that you see down there. =D Unfortunately the emcee butchered our name and called it "Green GAM-bet" during the awards' ceremony. =(

Silver Medal!!!

Oh yea, during the exhibition I saw someone having a pencil box that looks exactly like Ah Gu!!

Praise God!!

Indeed as the title suggests, I must give Him the glory for what has happened recently. I have just got back from KL, that's why there has been no update from me for quite a while.

It was a wonderful semester for me last semester in almost every way, and I have finally harvested the fruit of last semester. Before the results came out, I have been praying and asking God for results that will truly glorify His name. My previous results have not been too good, as some of you may know, and this has caused my CGPA to fall below even the mark of 3.

Having 22 credit hours was not an easy thing, but it really seemed so light and easy (even though I have had practically 1 lab report per week!). This in itself was a true miracle #1.

Miracle #2: I managed to actually keep studying throughout the whole semester. o.O this is actually quite a good improvement as I had been pretty lazy to study for some reason.

Miracle #3: When it looked like there was no way at all, God provided a way for girlfriend to come down to JB and visit for Christmas. =D

Miracle #4: As my previous posts would tell, I have been able to complete my driving lessons and obtain my license successfully on first try!!

Miracle #5: Results came out... and I am back in the dean's list again and my CGPA took a massive boost from below 3 to something more convincing!!

This is not to boast of myself, but rather to boast about how God has really blessed my semester and made it awesome! Praise God indeed!

The Big Test 2

So the not so BIG test started and ended today. Was a little nervous at the beginning and especially when I stepped into the car that was going to be used for the parking test. The moment I tested the clutch...

"Wait a minute, this feels so springy... Oh man, this is gonna be tough."

Never touched a clutch this springy before. Not even the vans I tried before were that way. =( Anyway excuses aside, I did my best and did pray before each segment. In the end it was pretty unfortunate....

... that....

... The guy before me FAILED. He passed his road test and was a little too confident and crashed the poles while going up the slope real fast. So this means he'll have to re-sit for it on next Wednesday.

Ok, but seriously... I managed to...

... PASS!! Woohoo!!!

Really praise God that I managed to pass. Phew! This is one big thing off my shoulder, and now I can drive myself and gf around liao. =D Thank God! Really couldn't have done it without him. For some reason this morning I felt great. When I tested out the car and drove my parents for breakfast, everything just felt so smooth. It could only have been God. =D

Blessed Semester

Another one is over and this, I must say is one of the more blessed ones. This one was filled with tonnes and tonnes of God's abundant grace and mercy. It hasn't been perfect, but somehow it ended well. *grins*

Haven't been able to go online for a long time due to exams and I just got back to JB not long ago though. Spent some time in Penang with gf and celebrated our 1st year together. =D Thanks for the wonderful present baby!

Anyway, I'm going to be spending the holidays doing some things that I haven't been able to settle during the semester, for example, finishing my driving license T.T and hopefully gf can come down to JB though. *fingers crossed*

The Thanksgiving Post

Well, this is almost the state I'm in though, minus the Russian thing and the dirty things. *lol*

Have been very very very busy with the final examination since 2 weeks ago. Before the final I just came off a series of horrible tests and stressful studying nights. But really PRAISE GOD that He helped me to pull through such a period.

When I got the final timetable for the examinations, it was kinda crazy looking as it features for the first time in my uni life, 3 STRINGS OF BACK-TO-BACK PAPERS. =.=

Just finished my Structural Analysis paper actually and I'm nursing a damaged hand due to too much writing. Finished my paper exactly on the dot. Nevertheless the paper was fantastic. Once again, really PRAISE GOD. He really blessed me with massive improvements in my studies this semester and I'm really thankful after every paper I take. The BACK-TO-BACK PAPERS aren't easy and I know there's no way I can ever go through those papers without His help. =D

Finally, I'm going to take a breather now and just lay back and relax for a while. Once again, PRAISE GOD!!
